Low-Complexity Codebook Design for SCMA-Based Visible Light Communication

Sparse code multiple access (SCMA), as a code-domain non-orthogonal (NOMA) scheme, has received considerable research attention for enabling massive connectivity in future wireless communication systems. In this paper, we present novel codebook (CB) design SCMA based visible light (VLC) system, which suffers from shot noise. particular, introduce an iterative algorithm designing and optimizing CB by considering the impact of noise at VLC receiver. Based on proposed CB, derive analyze theoretical bit error rate (BER) expression resultant SCMA-VLC system. The simulation results show that our CBs outperform existing literature different loading factors with much less complexity. Further, derived analytical BER well aligns simulated results, especially high signal power regions.
